What Our Clients Say
“After starting to take Pam’s private therapeutic yoga, I have developed a greater understanding of body awareness. In particular, I am aware of the 3 points under my feet and how my body responds to different movements. All of this has really helped me with the Zumba classes that I teach weekly.” – Jacky I.
About the Founder
As a yoga instructor and fitness educator, Pam never seems to run out of creative ways to motivate and inspire people from all walks of life to live pain-free, healthy lives. A veteran movement teacher certified as a yoga instructor and yoga therapist as well as a personal trainer (ACE-CPT, American Council on Exercise). Pam’s work has helped hundreds of Maui residents achieve a healthier lifestyle and pain-free movement.
Pam is the owner and founder of Ease in Motion based in Maui, Hawaii, a company that provides private and semi-private therapeutic yoga sessions held in clients’ homes and offices. Working in conjunction with physicians, chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapists, and fitness studios, Pam’s local reputation speaks to her years of experience as an athlete and to her passion for motivating others to lead healthier lives.
A life-long sports enthusiast, Pam’s pursuits in running, basketball, soccer, volleyball and track and field led to an impressive collection of over-use injuries. After discovering yoga in 2002, Pam realized that body awareness was the key to rehabilitating her tight muscles and aching joints. Having studied anatomy, kinesiology, and Yoga Therapy in the US and her native Canada, she now works with clients experiencing the aches and pains of aging, injuries, or other ailments.
“I know that the body can change at any age. I’ve lived it and I’ve seen in clients, both young and old. I am passionately motivated to educate and assist people who are suffering from chronic illness, injury or tension. My goal is to bring them to a place of comfort, where they can learn to move without pain” Pam says.
The daughter of a physician and nurse, and the sister of a physical therapist, the interest and intuition for wellness run in Pam’s blood. Maui has given much to Pam, and she enjoys giving back to the community by teaching yoga to our keiki ‘o ka ‘aina (the children of Hawai'i) and to people who have had a cancer experience. When not teaching movement therapies she can be found swimming at Maui’s beautiful beaches, dancing at local dance studios, indulging in some great chocolate, or just hanging out with her husband and daughter.
Prior to founding Ease in Motion, Pam studied with renowned Yoga Therapy expert Susi Hately. Pam is also trained in yoga therapy specific to those who have had a cancer experience. The session protocols Ease in Motion uses were studied at the University of Calgary and have been found to positively influence cancer-related recovery. After receiving her Certified Yoga Teaching certificate on Maui, Pam continued to finish her Yoga Therapy training in her native Canada with Susi Hately, Functional Synergy.
