What Our Clients Say
“Yoga with Pam is like my little personal retreat. I often come to my private session feeling pain and miraculously it is gone by the time I leave! My body is pain free and the extra added benefit is so is my mind! It makes me a better wife and mom!” – Rhea L.
What is Yoga Therapy?
Therapeutic yoga is a personalized approach to health, healing and freedom from pain. Using traditional yoga poses (asana) and yoga-inspired exercises, you will improve your balance, flexibility, mobility and strength while developing greater mind- and body-awareness. Your customized program will include stress management, breathing, and meditation techniques designed to meet your individual needs and pace.
Often joint or muscular pain is a symptom of dysfunction, rather than the root of the problem. Yoga therapy advocates working in layers: you must first learn to relax, then move, and lastly to build strength. With therapeutic yoga, your body will rediscover intuitive movement, within a comfortable range of motion and without increasing any current aches and pains. Learning how to move the major joints in their optimal range of movement (specifically for you), leads to dissolving pain or tension and ultimately results in better functional movement overall.
The benefits of regular yoga sessions can also extend to other parts of your life. You may feel more relaxed, with greater patience and mental focus.
Therapeutic yoga is a gentle and effective system of movement and breath that is safe for all ages and levels of mobility.
